日本の精度
現在進めている内装の仕事が着々と進んでいる。 その中で毎日驚くのが日本の大工仕事の精度の高さ。
僕は施工しやすい方法を選択し、仕上がりを良くしようと特に考えている方だと思う。 いくら図面上で理想を語っても、長期間の使用で空間の美しさや強さを維持できる作り方をしなければ意味がないからだ。
日本の大工仕事の精度とそれを支える誇りの高さを感じたのは施工方法の打ち合わせをしている時のことだった。
ある問題に当たったときのこと。「本当はAのようにしたいけど、Bの方が遊びが取れて施工が簡単。 見栄えは90%位落ちるけど汚い納まりだと意味のないところだからBにしましょう。」という僕に言った現場監督さんの一言が忘れられない。
「菅原さん、そんな心配はいりません。 日本の大工はそれぐらい難なくできます。 海外とは違います。」と。
職人さんや現場監督さんには海外で見聞きし体験してきた現場の話をしていた。 「設計者の意図を純粋に実現したいし、その能力が我々にはある！ 海外の現場とは違います！！」という彼らの誇り高き叫びが聞こえた気がする。
難しくても、きれいな納まりを普段から積極的に提案してくれる彼。その技術や精神とのコラボレーションを通じ、日本の精度を最後まで楽しんでいきたいと思った。

I’m impressed, I must say. Actually rarely do I encounter a weblog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you may have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is excellent; the problem is something that not enough people are talking intelligently about. I'm very completely happy that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing referring to this.
