設計者決定の前から、色々な噂が流れていました。

shinyaさんがパリにいらした頃は
設計者がフランス人であるのは既に決まっていて
Jean NouvelかDevid Manginだといわれていました。

フランスで有力な建築批評家がRem Koolhaasを強く押していて
さらに、最近彼が巴里にやって来て
フランス語で講演会をしたりしていたので
何か決定的な動きがあったのかとも思わせられた。

一方でDes hallesのコンペは、次世代の
国際的フランス人建築家を戦略的に出すためのもので
Devid Manginになるだろうともいわれていた。

Des hallesが巴里最大のショッピングセンターであり
映画館とプールを内包した娯楽施設であり
5本の地下鉄と3本のRER(パリ近郊を走る急行電車）が止る交通の起点でもあったりする。

都市的機能を内包しつつ、場所としても巴里の中心に位置するこのプロジェクト。
ユルバニストのRem Koolhaasが適任だった気がしています。

プロジェクトとしても、面白いと思っていて、
その一例を一つ挙げてみます。
『地下空間』は、場所把握の要素がちりばめられている
『地上空間』とは異なり、方向感覚を失ってまう。
そこで『地上空間』での手がかりとなるポジティブな塔を
『地下空間』ではネガティブなボイドに変換してみる。
キャラを持ったボイドが無数に挿入されているので
進んだり、回転したりすることで
その場所から見えるボイドのキャラが変化して
その変化が人間が動くときの手がかりとなる。

これは現在のDes hallesにも多少見つけることが出来て
日本の地下街と異なる印象を与えている理由の一つでもある。

ちなみにMVRDVは噂にすらなっていませんでした。

案に対する感想は大まかには似ているようですが
ジャンも考慮しているあたりが僕と違うようです。
